80.11

貪人多積聚　得不生厭足
無明顛倒心　常念侵損他
現在多怨憎　捨身墮惡道
是故有智者　應當念知足
惜財不布施　藏舉恐人知
捨身空手去　餓鬼中受苦
飢渴寒熱等　憂悲常煎煮
智者不積聚　為破慳貪故

"Greedy people hoard much, / Yet in obtaining it they never feel content. / With a mind of ignorance and perversion, / They constantly think of encroaching upon and harming others. / In the present life they have many grudges and hatreds, / And abandoning the body they fall into evil destinies. / Therefore, those who possess wisdom / Ought to keep contentment in mind. / Begrudging wealth and not giving, / They hide it away fearing others might know; / Abandoning the body, they depart empty-handed, / And suffer torment among hungry ghosts: / Hunger, thirst, cold, heat, and the like, / Grief and sorrow constantly roasting them. / The wise do not hoard, / In order to smash stinginess and greed."
