81.5

又地持論云。若菩薩布施令他受苦。若致逼迫。若被侵欺及非法求。自力他力不隨所欲。為眾生故。寧自棄捨身命不隨彼欲。令致逼迫則不施與。非是菩薩行淨施時。菩薩外不施者。若有眾生求毒火刀酒媒行作戲等一切非法來求乞者。菩薩不施。若施與者而多起惡。墮於惡道。不到彼岸。若他求索我之身分。即須施與。不須量他前人起退屈心。

Furthermore, the Bodhisattvabhūmi states: If a bodhisattva's giving causes another to suffer, or brings about oppression, or involves cheating and unrighteous seeking, and one's own power or another's power does not accord with their wishes, then for the sake of sentient beings, one would rather abandon one's own body and life than follow their desires. If it brings about oppression, one does not give it; that is not the time for a bodhisattva to practice pure giving. Regarding what a bodhisattva does not give externally: if there are sentient beings who come begging for poison, fire, weapons, liquor, pandering, theatrical performances, and other such unrighteous things, the bodhisattva does not give them. If one were to give them, much evil would arise, causing them to fall into the evil destinies and fail to reach the other shore. However, if another person seeks parts of my own body, one must give them at once, without measuring the other person and giving rise to a regressive or hesitant mind.
