兄聞是已。答其弟言。我以親故不為沮壞。弟白兄言。非為親愛乃是歿敗。即說偈言。

Having heard this, the elder brother replied to his younger brother: 'Because we are kin, I would not ruin you.' The younger brother said to the elder brother: 'This is not loving affection; it is ruin and destruction.' He then spoke a verse:
