82.16

又大寶積經云。第二持十善業戒者。有五事利益。一能制惡行。二能作善心。三能遮煩惱。四成就淨心。五能增長戒。

Furthermore, the Mahāratnakūṭa-sūtra says: 'Second, upholding the precepts of the ten good actions has five beneficial matters: first, being able to restrain evil conduct; second, being able to generate a good mind; third, being able to block defilements; fourth, accomplishing a pure mind; fifth, being able to increase the precepts.'
