是諸比丘為苦所逼。不得屈伸及以轉動。恐傷草命。唯當護戒至死不犯。即說偈言。
These bhikṣus were pressed by suffering, unable to bend, stretch, or move about, fearing they would injure the life of the grass; they resolved only to protect the precepts and not violate them until death. Then they spoke a verse, saying:
