佛言。龜者調達是也。昔以瞋語致有死苦。今復瞋罵如來墮大地獄。

The Buddha said: "The turtle was Devadatta. In the past, through angry speech, he brought upon himself the suffering of death; now, again, out of anger he reviles the Tathāgata and falls into the great hells."
