雖有色壽及多聞　若無戒智猶禽獸
雖處卑下少聞見　能持淨戒名勝士

"Though one possesses fine looks, long life, and broad learning, / If one lacks precepts and wisdom, one is still like a beast. / Though one dwells in a lowly station with little learning or experience, / If one can uphold the pure precepts, one is called a superior man."
