又優婆塞戒經云。若有人以四大寶藏滿中七寶持布施人所得功德。不如有人一日一夜受持八戒除五逆罪。餘一切罪皆悉消滅。是則得無量果報至無上樂。彌勒出時百年受齋。不如今日五濁世時一日一夜。

Furthermore, the Upāsaka-śīla-sūtra states: "If someone were to give four great treasuries filled with the seven treasures to others in charity, the merit obtained would not equal that of a person receiving and maintaining the eight precepts for one day and one night: except for the five grave sins, all other sins are completely extinguished. One will thus obtain immeasurable retribution reaching unsurpassable bliss. Observing the fast for one hundred years when Maitreya appears does not match observing it for one day and one night in today's world of the five turbidities."
