88.21

故智度論云。憍梵鉢提。試看一粒穀生熟不還本主。犯於業道尚五百世中為牛。乃至成羅漢已猶自呞食。

Therefore, the Mahāprajñāpāramitā-śāstra says: Gavāmpati, testing whether a single grain of cereal was raw or cooked, did not return it to its original owner; violating the course of karma, he was reborn as an ox for five hundred lifetimes, and even after attaining arhatship, he still chewed the cud.
