Furthermore, the Sarvāstivāda-śāstra states: An upāsaka who has received the five precepts is permitted to engage in buying and selling, but must not engage in five trades: First, he must not buy and sell livestock; what he already owns he is permitted to sell directly, but he must not give them to butcher households. Second, he must not buy and sell bows, swords, arrows, and halberds; what he already owns he is permitted to sell directly, but he must not give them to households of butchers or slaughterers. Third, he must not brew and sell liquor as a trade; what he already owns he is permitted to sell directly. Fourth, he must not press oil as a trade; in foreign countries there are insects in hemp seed, hence it is an offense; accordingly, if there are no insects, it should not be an offense. Fifth, he must not engage in dyeing with the five primary colors, because it kills many insects; as in the land of Qin, dyeing blue also kills many insects, so it is counted among the five primary colors.
