又智度論問。是三十二相三業之中何業種耶。答曰。是意業非身口業。是意業利故。又六識中是意識種非五識。以五識不能分別故。

Furthermore, the *Mahāprajñāpāramitā-śāstra* asks: Among the three karmic activities, of which karma are these thirty-two marks the seed? Answer: They are mental karma, not physical or vocal karma, because mental karma is sharp. Furthermore, among the six consciousnesses, they are seeds of the mental consciousness (*manovijñāna*), not the five consciousnesses, because the five consciousnesses cannot discriminate.
