茫茫恍惚　夙夜昏馳　色心染著
不覺日滋　身危漏剋　朝夕推移
戒瓶既破　淨報何施　七支不護
三業失威　賢聖共捨　神鬼競嗤
淨眾不納　擯同死屍　一墜幽塗
萬劫長糜

Vast and hazy, trance-like and dim, / Day and night galloping in darkness. / The defiled clinging of form and mind, / Unnoticed, flourishes day by day. / The body is imperiled, the water-clock leaks away, / Morning and evening shift along. / Once the vessel of precepts is broken, / How could pure retribution be granted? / The seven limbs unguarded, / The three modes of action (trividhadvāra) lose their dignity. / Worthies and sages alike abandon [them], / Spirits and ghosts vie in derision. / The pure community will not receive [them], / Cast out like a dead corpse. / Once plunged into the dark path, / For myriad kalpas, long reduced to ruin.
