夫正法所以流布。貴在尊經。福田所以增長。功由齋戒。故捨一餐之供。福紹餘糧。施一錢之資。果超天報。所以福田可重。財累可輕。共樹無遮之會。等招無限之福也。

The reason why the saddharma spreads abroad lies in venerating the scriptures; the reason why the puṇyakṣetra increases in growth stems from the merit of fasting and keeping precepts. Therefore, giving up an offering of a single meal yields blessings that inherit surplus provisions; donating the funds of a single coin brings forth fruits that surpass heavenly retribution. Thus, the puṇyakṣetra should be valued, while material encumbrances may be taken lightly. Together establishing an unrestricted assembly, all equally reap limitless blessings.
