汝見果樹者。是地獄人。迦葉佛時。是出家人。當僧果菜。香美好果私自食噉。或與白衣。故入地獄。作肉果樹火燒受苦。至今不息。

The fruit tree you saw is a denizen of hell. In the time of Kāśyapa Buddha, he was a monastic in charge of the sangha's fruits and vegetables. He privately ate the fragrant and delicious fruits himself, or gave them to laypeople. Therefore, he entered hell, where he became a flesh fruit tree burned by fire, suffering pain without respite even to this day.
