爾時世尊復告僧護。若出家人營僧事業難持淨戒是諸比丘初出家時。樂持淨戒求涅槃心。四輩檀越供養。是諸比丘。應受供養。堅持淨戒。後不生惱。而說偈言。

At that time, the World-Honoured One again addressed Saṃgharakṣita: 'If a monastic manages affairs for the sangha, it is difficult to uphold the pure precepts. When these monks first renounce the householder life, they delight in upholding the pure precepts with a mind seeking nirvāṇa. The dānapatis of the four classes provide offerings to them. These monks ought to receive the offerings, firmly uphold the pure precepts, and later give rise to no distress.' He then spoke a verse:
