When the young emperor of Wu ascended the throne, Zhuge Ke assisted in governing the state, and Sun Jun served as Palace Attendant and Senior General. Ke was headstrong, stubborn, and haughty toward others, while Jun was treacherous, perverse, and fond of power. In the third year of the Fenghuang reign period, Ke attacked Xincheng without success and returned. Jun was about to entertain Ke on behalf of the young emperor in order to kill him. On that day, Ke's spirit was agitated and restless, and he did not sleep the entire night. Zhang Yue and Teng Yin informed Ke of Jun's plot. Ke said, 'What can that scoundrel do? It would be nothing more than administering poison through wine and food.' He took a trusted attendant with medicinal wine to follow him. When Ke was about to enter, a domestic dog chased after him and bit his robe's hem, preventing him from leaving three times. Ke looked back, patted the dog's head, and said, 'Are you afraid? There is no harm.' After entering, Jun's concealed soldiers killed him. Jun later fell ill and dreamed that he was struck by Ke; speaking wildly, he constantly claimed to see Ke, and he eventually died. (Drawn from the Yuanhun zhi).
