紫紈未可得　漳濱徒再離
一逢犬馬病　賁育罷驅馳
既無九轉術　復闕萬金奇
不著授盥掌　唯夢蓮華池

Purple fine silk cannot yet be obtained;
Beside the Zhang river, departures are in vain.
Once one encounters this dog-and-horse sickness,
Even Meng Ben and Xia Yu cease their dashing pace.
Having neither the nine-turn alchemical art,
Nor possessing miraculous medicines worth ten thousand gold,
Not touching the hands that offer water for washing,
One only dreams of the lotus pond.
