第四通力遲速者。俱舍論云。此中陰游空而去。如人捨命應至無量世界外受生。俄頃即到。二乘通力未出一世界。中陰已至無量世界外。縱佛神力亦不能遮令不往生得住餘道。以業力定故。論業通勝者。據勝凡夫一乘神通。婆沙論云。神足勝者。據佛神通速也。

Fourth, concerning the speed of supernormal powers: the Kośa-śāstra says that this intermediate existence travels through the sky; as when a person relinquishes life and is due to take rebirth beyond immeasurable world systems, in an instant it arrives. Before the supernormal power of the two vehicles has traversed a single world system, the intermediate existence has already reached beyond immeasurable world systems. Even the divine power of the Buddha cannot prevent it from going to be born or cause it to abide in another destiny, because the power of karma is fixed. The śāstra's statement that karmic supernormal power is superior is based on its surpassing the supernormal power of ordinary persons and the One Vehicle. The Vibhāṣā-śāstra says: The statement that the base of supernormal power is superior is based on the Buddha's supernormal power being swift.
