98.8

若諸眾生不識父母。不識沙門婆羅門。及宗族尊長。不修義理。不作所作。不畏今世後世惡業果報。不修慧施。不作功德。不修齋法。不持禁戒。是名眾生濁。

If sentient beings do not recognize parents, do not recognize śramaṇas and brāhmaṇas, or their clan elders; do not cultivate righteousness and principles; do not perform what should be performed; do not fear the fruition and retribution of evil karma in this world and future worlds; do not cultivate the giving of wisdom; do not perform meritorious deeds; do not observe the rules of the posadha; and do not uphold the restrictive precepts—this is called the turbidity of sentient beings.
