Contemplating the divisions of the three realms of existence and the natures endowed upon the four modes of birth, those who wander in the burning house together sink into the sea of desires; squirming and crawling are the sentient creatures, panting and crying are the various beings. Thus, when the Dharma King encounters the fortunes of this world, the Awakened One accords with the appointed time for his vehicle, guiding those playing children to return to this sublime land, pitying the worldly net and compassionately delighting in renunciation. Therefore, seeing the dancing girls like sprawled corpses, he realised the palace halls were like decayed graves; lamenting the suffering of birth, old age, and sickness, he yearned for the eternal bliss of transcendence. Hence, he abandoned his kingdom and departed high above, subduing Māra and attaining the Way.
