Under the eaves within the hall of Jetavana Temple, there are four silver terraces. Inside two of the terraces are golden sūtras written on white jade plaques. There are another two terraces inside of which is the Vinaya-piṭaka, written on golden plaques with silver characters. The Vinaya-piṭaka was transcribed by a dragon king, and the Sūtra-piṭaka was transcribed by the Māra king. These two piṭakas are both the scriptures of an ancient Buddha prior to the past Constellation Kalpa. Within Jambudvīpa, these two transcribed scriptures are the foremost. When the Buddha passed into nirvāṇa, the dragon king Sāgara collected them and brought them into his palace to make offerings to them.
