I have heard that the Dharma King's power of Dharma delivers beings without limit; his great loving-kindness and great compassion resound as high as Bhavāgra. Adapting to capacities, he showers rain everywhere like dense, gathered clouds; contemplating all categories equally, he shines bright like a clear mirror. Thus, when his golden countenance manifested its traces, the fixed stars hid their radiance; when the beloved moon spread its beams, the morning sun obscured its light. No sooner did his eight tones issue forth than the Nirgranthas fell into disarray; no sooner were his seven eloquences proclaimed than the banners of Pūrṇa collapsed. Thus we know that his divine authority is dignified and profound, and the benefit [he confers] is vastly deep. Rejoicing in accordance with what is seen and heard is indeed rare to encounter. I exhort all practitioners to constantly contemplate the Buddha: keep in mind his wondrous form as if directly before your eyes; envision his radiant bearing as though only inches away. Although the Dharmakāya is non-dual, according to capacity three [vehicles] are expounded; in matching faculties with vast guidance, there are manifold approaches. Now I shall first record the scriptures, and afterwards recount miraculous proofs. What remains unfinished is fully detailed in the extensive texts.
