The third is called 'prostration of physical and mental reverence'. Hearing the Buddha's name chanted, one immediately visualizes the Buddha's body as if right before one's eyes, complete with major and minor marks, adorned and resplendently shining. As the mental image is formed, one senses oneself facing the Buddha's body, his hand rubbing one's crown to extinguish one's sinful karma. Therefore, body and mind are reverent without any other thoughts; venerating and paying reverence, the mind knows no satiety. The mental visualization is present before oneself, focused and unclouded. Leading and benefiting humans and devas, this is supreme and foremost. Although the merit is great, it is not yet wisdom; later, one often falls away. This is called the 'physical and mental prostration'.
