The Dīrghāgama also states: The Buddha told the bhikṣus: 'The brightness of a firefly is not equal to the brightness of an oil lamp or candle. The brightness of an oil lamp or candle is not equal to that of a torch. The brightness of a torch is not equal to that of a bonfire. The brightness of a bonfire is not equal to that of the Four Heavenly Kings. The palaces, garments, and bodily radiance of the Four Kings are not equal to those of the Trāyastriṃśa Heaven, and so on progressively up to the Akaniṣṭha Heaven, whose radiance is not equal to the radiance of Maheśvara. The radiance of Maheśvara is not equal to the Buddha's radiance. From the brightness of a firefly up to the Buddha's radiance, combining all that radiance is still not equal to the radiance of the truth of suffering, the truth of the origin, the truth of cessation, and the truth of the path. Therefore, bhikṣus, those who wish to seek radiance should seek the radiance of suffering, origin, cessation, and the path.' Furthermore, humans have seven colours. What are the seven? Some humans are golden-coloured; some are fire-coloured; some are blue-green; some are yellow; some are red; some are black; and likewise the devas and asuras also have seven colours.
