34.45

Now, the fruit of Buddhahood is supremely remote, yet scaling it has its steps; the Cloud of Dharma is loftily supreme, yet reaching it has its stages. Therefore, when great sincerity is first aroused, profound blessings are summoned at the ultimate fruit; when a vast vow is initially established, wondrous aspirations pervade the future. If a single thought arouses practice, it then evokes the auspicious flowers of kalpas countless as dust; if for half an instant one reverently bows, one obtains the ambrosia of the chiliocosm. This is truly the foundation of the Mahāyāna, the ferry and thoroughfare of the wisdom of all modes.
