"Twenty-second vow: May it be that when I become a Buddha, the bodhisattvas and arhats in my land shall all possess brave and fierce wisdom, knowing by themselves the good and evil performed in their past lives over hundreds of billions of kalpas, retroactively knowing without limit, completely penetrating with vision and hearing, and knowing the affairs of past, present, and future in the ten directions. If I obtain this vow, only then will I become a Buddha; if I do not obtain this vow, I will never become a Buddha.
