The Buddha told the youth: 'Suppose someone receives this sūtra, upholds, recites, chants it, and explains it to others, fully and completely without omission; their vows will be swiftly accomplished, and they will ultimately have no fear. If they go before government officials, they will not be wronged or infringed upon. If they walk among bandits, they will suffer no harm. If they walk through great fire, it will instantly be extinguished. If they walk through great waters, they will never drown. Devas, dragons, ghosts, spirits, and malicious deities will not dare touch them; wild ferocious beasts will not dare approach them; and demons, sprites, and mountain goblins will be unable to harass them. If they dwell in secluded places alone, they will be protected by the Tathāgatas.' When the Buddha spoke thus, Śakra, the youth Miaoshanyue, and others heard the sūtra, rejoiced, paid homage, and departed.
