Furthermore, the Avataṃsaka-sūtra states: Formerly, among humans there was an incense named Great Elephant Treasury, produced from dragons fighting. If one pellet of it is burned, it raises a great radiance, with fine clouds covering above, tasting like amṛta. For seven days and seven nights, it rains perfumed water. If it touches one's body, the body turns golden; if it touches clothes, palaces, or pavilions, they all likewise turn golden. If any sentient beings get to smell this incense, for seven days and seven nights they rejoice and are happy, all illnesses are eradicated with no untimely deaths, and they leave behind fearful and harmful thoughts, dedicating themselves to great compassion and being mindful of all sentient beings. Knowing them, I preach the Dharma for them, causing immeasurable sentient beings to attain non-retrogression. Furthermore, ox-head candana incense is produced from Mount Vimalā; if smeared on the body, fire cannot burn it.
