'My father and relatives / have all already gone forth;
innumerable koṭis of sentient beings / have also gone forth for the sake of the Dharma.
I now delight in renunciation, / not in dwelling in the five desires.
With single mind I seek the Buddha path, / wishing to go to the Guide.
If one resolves to go forth into homelessness / and departs from the fires of desire,
one should swiftly follow after me; / to escape difficulties is extremely hard to obtain.
If one does not resolve to go forth, / and does not distance oneself from the fires of desire,
then settle your mind in household life, / and dwell securely in the true Dharma.'
