Furthermore, the Old Samyuktāvadāna-sūtra says: In the past, there was a śramaṇa who traveled to another country. At night, unable to enter the city, he sat outside among the grasses. When night arrived, a yakṣa demon came to seize him to eat him. The śramaṇa said, "You and I are far apart from each other!" The demon said, "Why do you consider us far apart?" The śramaṇa said, "You wish to harm me; I will be reborn in the Trāyastriṃśa Heaven, while you will enter hell. Is this not far apart?" The demon then apologized, made obeisance, and departed.
