Sixth, there are also sentient beings with huge bellies and slender necks who cannot swallow food. If they take in any food, it turns into pus and blood. What transgression caused this? The Buddha said: In their past lives, they stole the food of the Saṅgha, or secretly ate in secluded places the blessed food prepared for great assemblies; they begrudged their own possessions yet only coveted the wealth of others; they constantly harboured evil intentions and administered poison to people, choking off their breath. Therefore, they incurred this retribution.
