Like a person at a fork in the road, / Who in doubt can take nothing, / Amidst the dharmatā of all phenomena, / Doubt is likewise so. / Because of doubt, one does not diligently seek / The dharmatā of all phenomena; / This doubt arises from ignorance, / And is the evil among evils. / Amidst wholesome and unwholesome phenomena, / Saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, / There truly and genuinely exists the Dharma; / Generate no doubt concerning it! / If you harbor doubt and hesitation, / Bound by the prison wardens of the King of Death, / Like a deer seized by a lion, / You will never obtain liberation. / Though in the world there may be doubt, / One should follow the wondrous and wholesome Dharma; / Just as, looking upon a fork in the road, / One should follow the advantageous and good path.
