For seven days and seven nights he closely beheld the World-Honoured One without blinking his eyes, surpassing nine kalpas, and within ninety-one kalpas attained anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi. Śākyamuni Bodhisattva valued his mental contemplation and did not value many words. If he had praised the Buddha with further verses, his mind might have become scattered. For this reason, for seven nights he praised the Buddha with a single verse.
