又大集經云。菩薩為於一字一句之義。能以十方世界珍寶。奉施法王。一偈因緣捨於身命。雖於無量恒河沙等劫修行布施。不如一聞菩提之事心生歡喜。於正法所樂聞樂說。常為諸佛諸天所念。以念力故。世間所有經典書論。悉能通達。

Furthermore, the Mahāsaṃnipāta-sūtra says: For the meaning of a single word or a single phrase, the Bodhisattva is able to offer the treasures of the worlds of the ten directions to the Dharma King, and for the sake of a single verse he renounces his body and life. Although one may practice giving for immeasurable kalpas as many as the sands of the Ganges, it does not equal the joy generated in the mind upon hearing of bodhi even once. Taking joy in hearing and expounding the true Dharma, he is always remembered by all the Buddhas and all the devas. By the power of mindfulness, he is able to comprehend all the scriptures, books, and treatises existing in the world.
