又居士請僧福田經云。別請五百羅漢。不如僧次一凡夫僧。吾法中無受別請法。若有別請僧者。非吾弟子。是六師法。七佛所不可。故知施有三種。故不可以一概論也。

Furthermore, the *Jushi qingseng futian jing* states: Specifically inviting five hundred arhats is not as good as taking a single ordinary monk in the regular monastic sequence. In my Dharma, there is no rule of accepting individual invitations. If someone specifically invites a monk, they are not my disciple; this is the dharma of the six teachers, forbidden by the seven Buddhas. Therefore we know there are three kinds of giving, and thus one cannot discuss them in a sweeping manner.
