又阿含口解十二因緣經云。有四種生。一腹生者。謂人及畜生（胎生者是）二寒熱和合生者。謂蟲蛾蚤虱（濕生者是）三化生者。謂天及地獄。四卵生者。謂飛鳥魚鱉。

Furthermore, the Oral Explanation of the Twelve Nidānas in the Āgama says: 'There are four kinds of birth: First, belly-born, which refers to humans and animals (this is womb-born). Second, born from the combination of cold and heat, which refers to insects, moths, fleas, and lice (this is moisture-born). Third, apparitionally born, which refers to gods and hell-dwellers. Fourth, egg-born, which refers to flying birds, fish, and turtles.'
