12.90

第十中陰有者。若弗婆提人。臨命終時。見於死相。見於自業。或見他業。或見殿堂殊勝莊嚴。心生歡喜。欲近受生。於殿堂外見眾婇女。與諸丈夫歌頌娛樂。於中陰有。作如是念。欲得同戲。即入戲眾。猶如睡覺即生天上。是名第十中陰有也。

The tenth intermediate state: When a person of Pūrvavideha approaches the end of life, they see signs of death: they see their own karma, or see others' karma, or see palaces and halls wonderfully adorned. Joy arises in their mind, and they wish to draw near to take birth. Outside the palace and halls they see a multitude of female attendants, singing, reciting, and making merry with men. In the intermediate state, they think: 'I want to play along with them.' They immediately enter the playing crowd, and as if awakening from sleep, they are born in the heavens. This is called the tenth intermediate state.
