Furthermore, because greed and desire are not gratified, anger is aroused and ill-will arises. If in the present life one has much ill-will, upon death one will fall into the Niraya Hell. Through successive kalpas one fully endures manifold sufferings. When this suffering is ended, one falls among animals, becoming poisonous snakes, vipers, pit-vipers, tigers, leopards, jackals, and wolves. Within this one undergoes immeasurable cycles of birth and death. By virtue of fundamental causes and conditions, if one encounters slight goodness, one barely regains a human body, but still has much ill-will, with an ugly and repellent countenance, hated and detested by others; not only do people not treat them as friends, but in truth people do not even take pleasure in looking at them. One should know that resentment and wrath always arise from anger and vexation.
