Furthermore, the Za piyu jing says: When the Buddha was in the world, there was a brahman who had a two-headed daughter. Both [faces of] the girl were beautiful. He then intentionally hung up gold and, within ninety days, sought anyone who could revile his daughter as ugly, offering to give them the gold. In the end, no one answered the call. He brought her to the Buddha's place. The Buddha immediately reviled her, saying, 'This girl is completely ugly, with not a single good feature.' Ānanda addressed the Buddha, saying, 'This girl is truly beautiful, yet the Buddha calls her bad; what is bad about her?' The Buddha said, 'When a person's eyes do not look upon visual forms, these are good eyes. The ears, nose, and mouth are likewise. When the body does not cling to delicate smoothness, this is a good body. When the hands do not steal another's property, these are good hands. Now, observing this girl: her eyes look upon visual forms, her ears listen to sounds, her nose smells fragrances, her body delights in delicate smoothness, and her hands delight in stealing wealth. Such things as these are all not good.'
