14.93

口癡而心剛　不柔無善言
常懷惡兩舌　不念人善利
所言不了了　藏惡在於心
如灰覆炭火　設躡燒人足
共語常柔和　順從言可人
言行而相副　心身不傷人
譬如好花樹　成實亦甘美
佛尊解脫是　心口之謀相

"With a foolish mouth and a hard heart, / Unyielding and devoid of good words, / Constantly harbouring malice and divisive speech, / Not thinking of the good and benefit of others; / His speech is unclear, / Concealing evil within his heart, / Like charcoal fire covered with ash, / Which, if trodden upon, burns a person's foot. / When speaking together, always be gentle and harmonious, / Complying with words that please others; / Let words and deeds correspond with each other, / With mind and body harming no one; / Just like a fine flowering tree, / Whose fruit also becomes sweet. / The liberation of the Honoured Buddha— / This is the mark of harmony between mind and mouth."
