又雜寶藏經云。佛言乃往過去時。有蓮華池。多有水鳥在中而住。時有鸛雀。在於池中。徐步舉脚。諸鳥皆言。此鳥善行威儀徐序。不惱水性。時有白鵝。而說偈言。
Furthermore, the Zabaozang jing says: The Buddha said that in the distant past, there was a lotus pond where many waterfowl lived. At that time, a crane was in the pond, taking slow steps and lifting its feet gently. The birds all said, “This bird behaves so well, possessing slow and dignified comportment, and does not disturb the aquatic creatures.” Then a white goose spoke a verse:
