17.85

又四十二章經云。佛言。天下有五難。貧窮布施難。豪貴學道難。制命不死難。得覩佛經難。生值佛世難。

The Sūtra of Forty-two Chapters also says: The Buddha said, "In the world there are five difficult things: it is difficult to practice giving (dāna) when poor; it is difficult to study the Path when noble and rich; it is difficult to control life so as not to die; it is difficult to obtain sight of the Buddhist scriptures; and it is difficult to be born encountering the era of a Buddha."
