18.49

第七復有眾生。常為獄卒熱燒鐵釘。釘入百節骨頭釘之已訖。自然火生焚燒身體。悉皆燋爛。何罪所致。佛言。以前世時。坐為針灸醫師。針人身體不能差病。誑他取財。徒憂苦痛令他苦惱。故獲斯罪。

"Seventh, there are sentient beings whose hundred joints and bones are constantly driven with red-hot iron nails by the hell wardens. Once the nails are driven in, fire spontaneously arises to incinerate their bodies, scorching and rotting them entirely. What sin brought this about?" The Buddha said: "In their past lives, it was due to acting as acupuncture and moxibustion physicians, puncturing people's bodies without curing their illnesses, deceiving others to obtain their wealth, and causing others suffering and distress in vain. Therefore they incurred this sinful retribution."
