18.54

第十二復有眾生。五根不具。何罪所致。佛言。以前世時。坐飛鷹走狗彈射禽獸。或斷其頭。或斷其足。生滅鳥翼。故獲斯罪。

"Twelfth, there are sentient beings who are incomplete in their five sense faculties. What sin brought this about?" The Buddha said: "In their past lives, it was due to flying falcons and running hounds to shoot birds and beasts, severing their heads or feet, or plucking out the wings of living birds. Therefore they incurred this sinful retribution."
