19.78

自念祠祀來　已歷八十年
奉風水火神　日月諸山川
夙夜不懈廢　心中無他念
至竟無所獲　值佛乃安寧

"Reflecting on myself since I began offering sacrifices, / Eighty years have already passed. / I served the gods of wind, water, and fire, / And the sun, the moon, mountains, and rivers. / Morning and night without laxity or neglect, / In my heart there were no other thoughts. / Yet in the end I attained nothing; / Only upon meeting the Buddha did I find peace."
