3.35

又賢者五戒經云。旋塔三匝者。表敬三尊。一佛二法三僧。亦念滅三毒。一貪二瞋三癡。

Furthermore, the Wise Person's Five Precepts Sūtra states: 'Circumambulating a stupa three times symbolizes respecting the Three Venerable Ones: first, the Buddha; second, the Dharma; and third, the Saṅgha. It also represents being mindful of extinguishing the three poisons: first, greed; second, anger; and third, delusion.'
