3.92

夫佛果敻絕。登之有階。法雲峻極。屆之有漸。是以創發大誠。則玄德照於來際。初立弘誓。則妙願遍於空界。一念興志。即塵劫之瑞華。半刻虔躬。乃大千之甘露。蓋是大乘之根基。種智之津衢也。

Now, the fruit of Buddhahood is remote and peerless, yet there are steps to climb it; the Dharma cloud is lofty and towering, yet there is a gradual progress to reach it. Therefore, when great sincerity is first aroused, its mysterious virtue illuminates future times; when a grand vow is first established, its wondrous aspiration pervades the empty realm. A single thought of raising the resolve is the auspicious flower of dust-like kalpas; half a moment of reverently bowing the body is the ambrosia of the great chiliocosm. This is truly the foundation of the Mahāyāna, the ferry and highway of omniscience.
