5.20

下方者即是奴婢。若有人能供給奴婢衣食病瘦醫藥。不罵不打。是人則能供給下方奴婢。是奴婢復以十事報之。一不作罪過。二不待教作。三作必令竟。四疾作不令失時。五主雖貧窮終不捨離。六早起。七守物。八少恩多報。九至心敬念。十善覆惡事。

"The nadir refers to male and female servants. If someone can provide servants with food and clothing, and medicine when sick and emaciated, neither cursing nor beating them, this person can provide for the servants of the nadir. These servants reciprocate with ten things: first, committing no transgressions; second, not waiting to be told before doing their work; third, always completing what they do; fourth, acting quickly without missing the proper time; fifth, never deserting the master though he may be poor; sixth, rising early; seventh, guarding possessions; eighth, returning much gratitude for little kindness; ninth, reverently keeping them in mind with sincere heart; tenth, being good at concealing faults.
