5.31

又十誦律云。鹿子母別請五百羅漢。佛言。無智不善。若於僧中。依次請一人者。得大功德。果報利益。勝別請五百羅漢。一切遠近無不悉聞。

Furthermore, the Daśa-bhāṇavāra-vinaya states: "When the Mother of Mṛgāra made a specific invitation to five hundred arhats, the Buddha said: 'This is unwise and unwholesome. If one invites a single person in sequence from among the Saṅgha, one attains great merit; the karmic reward and benefit surpass specifically inviting five hundred arhats, as everyone near and far has fully heard.'"
