Furthermore, the Damamūka-nidāna-sūtra says: At that time, a deva from the Śuddhāvāsa Heaven descended to the Bhagavat in Jambudvīpa, inviting the Buddha and the Saṃgha to bathe and receive offerings. The Bhagavat silently assented. The deva immediately prepared food and drinks and arranged bathing implements: a warm room with appropriately adjusted warm water, ghee, oil, and soap herbs were all provided. Thereupon, the Bhagavat and the bhikṣus accepted his offerings. After they had bathed, he also provided abundant food and drink, delicious and rare in the world. When they finished eating and rinsed their mouths, each returned to their original seat. At that time, Ānanda addressed the Buddha: 'What merit did this deva perform in the past to possess such an extraordinary and wondrous form, remarkable and majestic signs, and a brilliance blazing like a great mountain of jewels?' The Buddha told Ānanda: 'Long ago in the past, at the time of Vipaśyin Buddha, this deva in that life was the son of a poor family, who constantly worked as a hired laborer to support himself. Hearing the Buddha explain the virtue of bathing the Saṃgha, he was delighted in his heart. He then worked diligently and obtained a small amount of money and grain, using it to prepare bathing implements and set out food and drinks, inviting the Buddha and the Saṃgha, and offering everything completely. Due to this meritorious deed, after his life ended, he was born in the Śuddhāvāsa Heaven and possessed these radiant marks. From the Seven Buddhas onwards, down to the appearance of a thousand Buddhas in the world, he also bathed the Buddha and the Saṃgha in this way.' The Buddha bestowed a prophecy on him, saying: 'In the future, within two asaṃkhyeya and one hundred kalpas, you will become a Buddha named Pure Body, complete with the ten titles.'
